Twin Farms - A Vermont Resort
In 1994-95, Housewright was contracted to build two cottages at the resort property located on the former Sinclair Lewis Farm in Barnard, Vermont. Designed by nationally-renowned, New York City-based architectural firm Johnson & Wanzenberg, these cottages each have a distinctive theme. The first cottage, inspired by the Tuscany region of Italy, features a barrel-vaulted plaster ceiling along with a sandstone floor. The woodwork throughout is constructed of beautiful quarter-sawn white oak. Morocco is the inspiration for the second cottage. That theme is brought to life with tiled floors and wainscoting, Arabesque woodwork and a plaster ceiling that replicates the draped fabric in the ceiling of a sheik's tent.
