The Country Estate

Every home is the owner's "castle", but this home really is a castle.

As the builder and general contractor on this project, Housewright coordinated the efforts of building and landscape architects, structural engineers, a wetland expert, blasters, excavators, masons, concrete, mechanical and electrical specialists.

Your castle may be more modest, but we bring to your project the knowledge and experience gained from more complex undertakings.

Architects:
Ralph Duesing ~ Dallas, Texas
Scott Cornelius ~ New York, New York

"Housewright's operation is very impressive. They are extremely well organized. It's an incredible gathering of talent."

Unique Project Homeowner

This 400+ acre country estate was constructed in phases over a ten-year period. It included the construction of a bridge and dam with a guest house by the waterfall, a pavilion in the pond, the main house and outbuildings.

Main house construction began with the GPS-guided layout of the Great Room
at the center of the house.
The arched granite and stone
footbridge leads to a nature trail.
The view of the Great Room from the balcony.
The cedar door to one of the guesthouses on the property features leaded glass and
custom-made hardware.
This unusual upstairs bathroom has an
eyebrow dormer window and a
wooden, serpentine ceiling.
The mirrors in this bathroom are
heated to prevent fogging.

Imagine soaking in the tub with mountain
views while you contemplate the flames in
this sculpted granite fireplace.
The handcrafted staircase that gives this living room character leads to a
timber framed loft bedroom.
This 40-foot tall dovecote was designed to accommodate a variety of birds.
